Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find below an observation for APB Case Number: APB-308942-20 ‘Sustainable Bio-Energy Limited Biogas Plant, Ballynamantan, Kinincha and Glenbrack, Co. Galway’. This is in response to your request for observations on a further information request. Our observations are focused on information and clarifications sought by the board as follows:

“Please provide a breakdown of the water/liquor supply sources to be utilized at the proposed development with the associated calculations which confirm the availability of water/liquor capacity to meet the statement requirement of 120,000 cubic metres of liquor per annum as outlined in the application documentation (Appendix 7.2 – Stormwater Report – of Volume 3 of the Environmental Impact Assessment. “

– .. has not clarified Dry-matter content of the feedstock or provided dilution requirements or calculations
– .. had not considered any evaporation, static water in their rainfall collection calculations

In light of a highly sensitive resource, and the applicant failing to provide any real detail, clarity or calculations, we conclude that this matter has not been property addressed, that there are real concerns about impact on an over-subscribed water supply and that the Bord should therefore agree with Galway County Council ruling and refuse planning permission for this development.
